Happy New Year!
How has your year been? What’s your biggest lesson of the year?
Take some time. Sit down. Think through it.
I’m not going to mention the dreaded C-19 word by now, because you’re probably tired of it.
But if I’ve taken one thing away from 2021, it’s this.
That today, I (and probably you), chase ephemeral experiences that will never last, but what you and I truly need to return to is the heart of relationship.
Why do I say this? Because today, we’ve been so enamoured with building the clean and modern ‘user experience’ that is smooth and efficient, that we take the messiness of human relationships out of it.
I choose to text rather than take the messiness of a phone call. I choose to meet someone over Zoom because I know that in real life, it may be awkward. At least I can ‘touch up’ my appearance over Zoom ;)
But you and I crave relationship. We have this deep, desperate yearning to relate to each other. To touch each other in person. To move each other in emotion. To be with each other.
As my gift to you this year, I’ve produced this course on friendships. If you struggle to understand how to make, deepen or repair friendships in this
digital age, this one’s for you. There’s no fee, no worries!
Happy new year,
John
