‘Seeking to spark the most potential within you per word of any online newsletter’

I’m not sure if you’ve come to
a place in your life, where you realise…
that not all problems are problems.
And not all problems need solving.
And sometimes, it’s just about managing the tensions within these problems.
Like whether you should stay or quit a job.
Stay or leave in a relationship.
It’s often not an either/or, but more a balancing of the tensions within.
I recently had a chat with an organisational development consultant, who will remain unnamed for the purposes of this newsletter.
But
you’d see that what he says makes problems appear in a different light.
Not all problems are problems.
But the challenge, is that we often see them as problems to be solved. Fixed, and hopefully made to disappear.
A mark of maturity is our ability to live with ‘thorns in our flesh’,
to coexist with them, rather than trying to find a way out.
Because in life, there are many things that don’t have neat and tidy solutions.
And maybe in your life right now, there is a sticky situation that you’d rather not have. Maybe a question to ask yourself is,
What if I stopped
trying to solve this problem, and learnt to live with it?
How might I live with this challenge?

Not all problems are problems.
1 tip
How do we know when something is solvable, and when something is not?
One useful metric?
Ask yourself if the problem happens because you’re trying to change someone or something.
If you are, you probably will continue smacking your head against the proverbial
wall.
Stop trying to change people, and start trying to see where the problem lies within yourself.
And the question is
How do we manage the tensions within the problems we face,
within
ourselves?
There are many answers to this question.
Recently, I was pondering about this as I wondered if I should stay or leave a church group.
One thing I found helpful was asking,
if I was at the
receiving end, how would I like to be treated in this situation?
Try asking yourself that the next time you recognise tension within yourself. You might be surprised at what you find.
